Yes, I accept that award! I could make up excuses about being too busy to update Ian's blog, but I am sure I could have squeezed in a few minutes each month for the past year, had I actually thought about it.
Regardless, this is me, trying to get caught up and trying to develop a habit of recording his history.
So, here is what has been happening since last October (2011).
Ian is now 5 years old (well almost 6) and attends kindergarten with me at Meadowcreek. He is quite enjoying it! He has now learned to swim underwater, holding his breath. He has seen his first "real" movie in a movie theater. Mark and I took him to see "The Avengers." He attended his first high school football game and played his first real game of bowling. We have taught him the basics about math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). And (warning TMI ahead) he can cleanly wipe his bottom!!! Anyone with a boy knows this last one is major. Hey, I warned you there was TMI.
Over the holidays he has exhibited an ability to build lego sets that are labeled with an age range higher than his own. I am quite proud of him.
My goal for the near future is to teach him to tie his shoes. I really hate velcro, but I am finding I really hate tying shoes as well.
Here are some highlights from his year in pictures.
