Our Little Doctor!

A few nights ago, Ian was playing in the playroom while Mark and I were in the office (adjacent room).  Ian comes over to me and says "I need to check you, Mama."  He is holding a stethescope I brought home for him.  He checks me.  He then says I have a boo-boo, and he needs to fix it.  I asked him what he needed to fix my boo-boo.  He says, "A hammer and a screwdriver, Mama!"

He makes me sooo proud to be his Mama!

Here we are at the park feeding the geese after our ritual of breakfast Sunday morning at the Georgia Diner.

His New Toy

Yes, I am talking about Ian.  Friday is sleeping bag and flashlight day at daycare.  So Ian and I head out to ToysRUs to find him a sleeping bag.  Mission accomplished, but not before he is in the bike section trying out all the displays of riding toys and bikes.  They have a Toy Story scooter.  It is perfect, and he loves to ride scooters, so of course I could not resist.  Here are the rewards of my effort.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Well, the light dusting we were suppose to get yesterday, turned into four inches of snow.  I know that pales in comparison to the others further north up the Atlantic seacoast.  It just took us for surprise.  Most of the snow fell between 1:30pm and 8:00pm. The pictures towards the end show a lot more snow than the earlier pictures. It was beautiful!  I just hate being housebound.
Here are our pictures of the event.

Closing Out January 2010

Ian has been a potty training machine!  Daycare requested the we start him in underwear this week.  He gave me a fit this morning.  He did not want to wear them.  I did not fight him on this.  I just packed up the underwear and took them to daycare.  This was not a fight I wanted first thing on a Monday morning.  His teachers were able to convince him to wear them.  From the written report, it looks as if he did well all day with them.  He does well here with going to the potty, too, but if I can get him to go to the potty at home like he does at daycare, all will be good!

This past weekend we helped some friends get packed up to move back to Savannah.  One of the things they did not have room for was a Barbie jeep my mother gave my niece when she was Ian's age.  So amongst other items we are lodging for the time being, we have the Jeep.  Catherine has grown out of it now, she is 9 years old, but Ian fits quite nicely in it.  Yes, it is pink.  Yes, it has Barbie all over it.  Ian does not care.  We were quite surprised at how well it works after 6 years. Mark says we can just go get some paint/dye and make it camo! This is the most fun he has had in a really long time!

Here is a quick video of the excitement.

Here are some picks of the pink Barbie Jeep and Ian!

Not So Little Anymore

Man he is growing like a weed!  His weight has not changed much in the last year, but he is growing taller by the minute.  We don't have any new pictures, but we do have a new video.

For your viewing pleasure!

Potty Training!!!!

My baby (I know he is not much of a baby anymore) has been using the potty more and more now.  We were hoping this would happen soon.  I was trying not to push him too hard and let it happen on his own.  He is completely potty trained at daycare but wouldn't go anywhere near the potty at home.  Now, he will tell us or we ask him and he will hop up there by himself or stand and urinate.  I know, this can be a TMI subject for those without children, but I am extremely excited about this stage of the game.  Diapers are expensive!

Christmas was very nice.  Mama was here for a few days before Christmas to help me out after surgery.  She gave him his first present, a Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story.  He LOVES it.  He sleeps with it.  He takes it wherever he can.  My brother got him a Buzz Lightyear stuffed doll with a blanket that he adores as well.
Here are pictures of him opening presents Christmas morning.
