Cakes

Here are two cakes I made and decorated back in May and June.

The first was a baby shower cake. It was the first time I used cream cheese for frosting and piping. It was not the cleanest work I have done. Cream Cheese icing becomes very gooey in the piping bag from the heat of my hand. It became more and more runny as piped dots around the edges. The animals and baby are made from fondant.

The next cake was a birthday cake. The butterflies are poured candy melts. The cake was covered in fondant because I tried icing with cream cheese again, and it did not turn out as smooth as I wanted it. However, it was a crusting cream cheese icing recipe this time.

I need to get better at this

I have been a horrible blogger. You would think I could have kept up with it during the summer. I guess being home with the little man kept me away from the computer more than I thought. Now I am back at work and he has returned to daycare.

Here are the pics we took at our 4th of July get together at Leslie's house. We adore her dog, Greta. She is big enough to saddle up and ride! Ian is now old enough to enjoy her. I am not so sure she enjoyed him though.

Ian had a good time throwin the ball around and playing with Harris.

Ian and Harris had an even better time walking Leslie around the yard on Greta's leash.
