Cakes

Here are two cakes I made and decorated back in May and June.

The first was a baby shower cake. It was the first time I used cream cheese for frosting and piping. It was not the cleanest work I have done. Cream Cheese icing becomes very gooey in the piping bag from the heat of my hand. It became more and more runny as piped dots around the edges. The animals and baby are made from fondant.

The next cake was a birthday cake. The butterflies are poured candy melts. The cake was covered in fondant because I tried icing with cream cheese again, and it did not turn out as smooth as I wanted it. However, it was a crusting cream cheese icing recipe this time.
